GeoMIns: Geology Mentoring & Inclusive Support

Are you a URM, S-STEM, and/or GeMS Scholar?

AWG recognizes the unique challenges faced by marginalized and underrepresented students, particularly Black, Indigenous, or Latinx students. Our newest mentorship program, GeoMIns, (Geology Mentoring and Inclusive Support) offers meaningful mentorships with mentors that are committed and trained to support, mentor, and advise underrepresented students. To sign up for a GeoMIns mentorship, look for the questionnaire each Fall quarter.

If you are interested in a hands-on, effective mentorship provided by an EPS graduate student, sign up to be a mentee! Based on your interests, needs, and goals,  you will be paired with a trained graduate student mentor who is committed to helping you meet your goals. Your mentee will meet with you ~ bi-weekly as needed to answer any questions you may have about the geology major, career opportunities, field trips, research opportunities, or any other STEM or career-related questions.
